Ding! Ding! Ding!
It is apparently on between Taylor Swift and... Joni Mitchell?!?
The same week that Bette Midler dissed Ariana Grande, the 71-year old artist spoke to The Sunday Times, bringing up a 2012 rumor that Swift was in talks to portray her in a big screen adaption of Girls Like Us, a book that told the story of Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon.
"I squelched that. I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones,'" Mitchell recall.
In other words: Joni Mitchell isn't a big fan of Taylor Swift the actress.
Swift made her feature film debut in 2010's Valentine's Day and she also had a small role in 2014's The Giver.
She told Time magazine two years ago that she’s “love to sign on to do a movie,” but it would have to be a “story worth telling,” considering how much effort she’d put in to a big role.
For now, however, this music thing is working out pretty well for Swift.
She set a Billboard milestone last week by succeeding herself atop the chart and kicks off the 1989 World Tour on May 5 in Tokyo, Japan. She will perform 65 shows through October 31 in Tampa, Florida.
