At the 2016 Emmy Awards on Sunday night, Tom Hiddleston presented the award for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special to his Night Manager director, Susan Bier.
Though it was hardly the biggest prize of the night, all eyes were on Hiddleston and co-presenter Priyanka Chopra, as the world wondered whether they would crack a joke about Hiddleston's new status as a tabloid staple.
As you're probably aware, Hiddleston dated Taylor Swift for a few months over the summer before joining the long list of famous men who have broken up with the world's most popular singer.

Emmy producers even seemed to be in on the joke, cutting to John Mayer (another Swift ex) jamming out in the orchestra pit right after Hiddleston and Chopra made their presentation.
But apparently, the actor known to fans as "Hiddles" was not eager to comment on his high-profile breakup.
"Yes. Yes, we are," Hiddleston when People magazine asked if he and Taylor are still friends prior to the ceremony.
As non-committal responses go, that's up there with "no comment," and social media had a field day with Hiddleston's obvious reluctance to talk about Taylor.
Now obviously, Hiddleston is entitled to his privacy, and he was attending the ceremony in a professional capacity.
He received an acting nod for Manager, but lost out to Courtney B. Vance, who played Johnny Cochrane on The People vs. O.J. Simpson.)
That said, it's not like Hiddleston has any right to be surprised by questions about his newly severed relationship.
The 35-year-old British actor has done some high-profile work during his career (most notably as Avengers villain Loki), but it's his auditions for the part of Mr. Swift that have earned him the most attention on this side of the pond.
And it's not like he and Swift did much to keep things low-key (no pun intended) during their relationship.
At her now-notorious Fourth of July party, Taylor and Tom posed for various canoodling photos.
The guy even rocked an "I [heart] T.S." t-shirt.
Obviously, no one likes to talk about failed relationships.
But in Tom's case, given the high-profile nature of his summer fling (and the fact that he seemed to welcome the attention when it was going on) we've gotta say T.S.
We're sure Zac Efron will know how he feels at next year's awards.
