Taylor's quotes were picked apart for clues, and her history was examined by fans hoping to piece together the identity of her professional rival. Turns out the answer may have been under our noses and on our Twitter feeds all the while:

Just hours after Taylor's quote went public, Katy Perry tweeted, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing," a reference to the villainous manipulator from the 2004 film Mean Girls.
