Sometimes all they want to do is drink tea and FaceTime with their friends at home, as Selena and Taylor showed us last weekend. Stars. They're just like us!

Gomez and Swift had a girls' night in on Saturday, and it was low-key.

Like, decidedly and demonstratively low-key. The kind of low-key every dad likes to imagine his daughter is partaking in with her BFFs on a Saturday night.

If only they could all be Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, right?

The country superstar and the pop singer-actress made some tea, which they drank out of delicate, white teacups, and then FaceTimed with Demi Lovato.

Gotta love that these three are so close, and comfortable in their own skin. Demi has obviously had some issues before, but is in a great place now.

Selena captured the happy, goofy moment in a screen grab and shared it with her 5.8 million Instagram followers, and the story went viral quickly.

No word if they were secretly paid by Apple. Just kidding. Maybe.

"Just a Saturday night. Taylor's tea, Demi's laugh. Honestly, can't complain," the 21-year-old beauty wrote on her Instagram along with the cute image.

Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez FaceTime Demi Lovato

Not everybody loves Taylor Swift, at least in Rhode Island. Neighbors are reportedly upset over work she's having done on the seawall outside of her mansion.

The 24-year-old is rebuilding a giant rock wall outside of her beachfront Westerly, R.I., estate, which some observers say will now encroach on a public beach.

An opinion column in The Day (New London, Conn.) claims the construction was being done on a "public" beach without a single permit from the town.

Taylor Swift Angers Neighbors With Sea Wall Construction

Spokeswoman Laura Dwyer of the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council begs to differ, however, defending the singer's actions.

Dwyer tells the The Westerly Sun (R.I.) that the "revetment repair" is kosher, will not hamper beach access and that proper permits were obtained.

"It all started during [Hurricane] Sandy," Dwyer explained of the work being done at Taylor's residence. "The wall sustained damage during Sandy."

Permits were issued to Swift for repairs on the wall (replacing unsafe rocks and resettling existing rocks), which the CRMC confirms is "a permitted activity."

Nor will this somehow block Westerly's East Beach. "There must be access at all times [during and after construction]," Dwyer said. "We made sure of that."

Westerly's Director of Planning, Code Enforcement and Grant Administration, Amy Grzybowski, confirmed that town officials are aware of the construction.

This comes on the heels of neighbors griping about Swift with comments like, "It was bad enough when she moved in, but to ruin a part of the town for all of us?"

"This is a whole new level of hate."

A new level of HATE, people.

Surfers in the area also claim construction at Taylor's mansion is messing with the wave break in Westerly, in addition to taking away beach access.

Taylor's camp is adamant that the proper permits have been obtained and that the town actually asked her to move some rocks back to her property line.

In any case, Swift's fans (like Laney Brown), friends (like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato on FaceTime) and other neighbors seem to like her more.

She was just named 2013 Tennessean of the Year. Doesn't look like she'll take home 2014 Rhode Islander of the Year ... those grouchy New Englanders.

Unlucky in love star Taylor Swift is reportedly in a familiar romantic place - alone - after being spurned by her latest crush, British actor Douglas Booth.

Swift, 24, was in hot pursuit of Booth after spotting the hot Romeo and Juliet star, 21, at a party at the West Hollywood Soho House in November.

“Taylor kept on making an effort to flirt with Douglas, but he gave her the cold shoulder and was extremely dismissive towards her,” an insider dished.

Swift was not taking no for an answer, but Booth was not offering yes.

“She would go get a drink and then approach him; she would chat with [actress and Swift bestie] Hailee Steinfeld and then she'd re-approach him."

"It was all very funny for those of us watching."

Funny to watch her strike out? That's a little harsh, N.Y. Daily News insider. But it was to no avail, in any case, as Booth gave her the cold shoulder.

According to witnesses, the singer looked dejected at his lack of interest and was overheard in the ladies’ room telling Steinfeld about her disappointment.

“Taylor and Hailee were chatting about Douglas while they all touched up their makeup,” the source says, noting that Swift took it pretty badly.

“Taylor was whining and complaining about his aloofness toward her. She looked like an animal circling its prey, when she tried to get his attention.”

Something changed his mind, because in the following weeks, the two stars were seen together London ... only for him to brush her off again.

“Doug is a young guy and is enjoying the single life,” says a pal. “He's quite taken aback about how keen Taylor was ... he just wants to be friends.”

Booth may not be ready for a serious relationship at this point in his life and career, or concerned about winding up in the lyrics of the next Swift hit.

Either way, between this and her Rhode Island neighbors hating on her for renovating the seawall outside her mansion, it's been a rough week for TS.

Has Taylor Swift found her next ~~famous person to mysteriously write an eventual break up song about~~ boyfriend?

The romance rumors around the singer and Jared Leto have been going strong since Sunday night, after a photo of the pair looking mighty cozy together was posted to Instagram.

It was taken at a Golden Globes after-party, with Leto holding his trophy in his hand and Swift perhaps thinking there's a good place for that thing in her bedroom... if you know what we mean!

The Daily Beast's Marlow Stern snapped the picture and did note that Swift spent time at the shindig speaking to plenty of stars.

He also claims Leto isn't whispering sweet nothings into her ear, but was rather remarking on how "f-cking crazy" it was to win.

Still. That's far less fun than imagining these two as Hollywood's next power couple.

Earlier in the same evening, meanwhile, Taylor was involved in another photogenic moment when Jennifer Lawrence photobombed her on the red carpet.

Taylor Swift didn't need much to bring Grammy Awards attendees to their feet last night.

Just her piano. Some solid vocals. Memories of her split from Jake Gyllenhaal. And a whole lot of hair flipping.

That summarizes the young star's rendition of "All Too Well" as succinctly as possible, as Swift sang this song off the album "Red" for the first time at an awards show.

Did it have the fun energy of Beyonce and Jay-Z opening the event on CBS? Nope. But it did leave the Internet talking a lot and it did result in a standing ovation.

Taylor Swift - "All Too Well "(2014 Grammy Awards)

Taylor Swift made her presence very strongly felt at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

She dazzled on the red carpet. She earned a raucous response via a performance of the track "All Too Well." She danced and danced and danced to various artists from her front row seat.

And she also won Album of the Year! Sort of. Not really. Okay, not at all.

But the camera was zoomed in on Taylor when Alicia Keys read the winner as Daft Punk, whose "Random Access Memories" does sound a lot like "Red."

Watch now as Swift thinks she wins upon hearing the first sound out of Keys' mouth... only to then close her mouth and recover nicely, giving the actual winners a standing ovation once the full album title is read aloud:

Taylor Swift at the Grammys: I Didn't Win?!?

Taylor Swift is known to have enthusiastic fans, but one "Swiftie" got too close for comfort on Saturday.

While Tay was performing "We Are Never Getting Back Together" at London's O2 Arena, an obsessed male concert-goer interrupted her set by rushing the stage to get next to her.

But Taylor's security detail was on it.

Two guards promptly grabbed the trespasser and whisked him away.

Hopefully something like that will never happen again. Like ever.

Taylor Swift Fan Rushes Stage

The country superstar is currently on the UK leg of her Red tour.

She attended the Grammy Awards last Sunday, where she danced a lot and, er, ~~won album of the year~~ totally thought she won album of the year.

Taylor Swift is featured in the March 2014 of Glamour, taking a very subtle swipe at Miley Cyrus in the process.

Asked about being a role model and not getting naked, the artist tells the magazine that it's "relatively easy" to keep her clothes on because she simply doesn't have the "urge" to take them off.

"For me 'risky' is revealing what really happened in my life through music," Swift says. "Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is. That’s putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off.”

Okay, so maybe it's not exactly a diss of Cyrus. But have you see Miley's W photos?!? That star clearly has some kind of urge for nudity.

In closing, Swift says she doesn't read much about herself online.

Why not? It would affect her personally... which would affect her professional.

“I know when not to read an article. Is it going to help my day? Is it important for my life? If the answer is no, then I just don’t click...

"I’m careful about getting sucked into the rabbit hole that is the Internet because, as a songwriter, I don’t have the option of having thick skin... you have to be open to everything, and that includes pain, rejection, self-doubt, fear. I deal with that enough on my own.

"If you look hard enough, you could find somebody on the Internet criticizing every single thing about you. If you’re me.”
